Has anyone heard this recording? I was listening to it, and it seems like Doug forgets the words to Kicked it in the Sun. Pretty funny.

You mean in the part that rhymes with "we seemed so unashamed of how we operated"? Apparently that wasn't a mistake, he always seems to sing it
like that live; he does on all (I think) of the bootleg versions I have.

I have 2 other live versions of Kicked it in the Sun, and they both have the correct lyrics.
2009-07-19 Hoboken, NJ & 2001 in NY, NY The Carborro show is the only version I have heard that has the gibberish lyrics. |

Upon investigation:
Among my bootlegs, he says the gibberish lines during: 5/13/06 (but not 9/15/06 or anything after this; none of the '07/8/9 shows) 6/28/99 7/7/99 7/8/99 4/27/97 If he did sing the album lyrics in 2001 it would seem he alternates. It's probably intentional, but I don't even know what the weird lyrics mean so it's hard to say. |

Is this the thing about "red button record / green button rehearse"? Or something else?

Yeah; is that what he's really saying?

Believe it or not. When the record came out you could write to Warner Bros. for a lyrics sheet, and it was printed. He's singing his tape deck's
manual.

What? No way. Is that what he is seriously saying?
Also, can you clarify... WB sent out a lyrics sheet with those lyrics as well? |

OMG.
I feel like my mind is blown over finding out what the lyrics are. |

I can't remember the details, but I thought it was in the CD liner notes. I'd check, but you know the story. Me in Australia, my stuff in Washington.
You could send a SASE, I think it was to a Boise PO box, and it would come back with a couple of (lavender, from Kinko's, if I recall correctly) sheets
with the lyrics typed in. Same deal with Keep It Like A Secret. No doubt I'm gonna get a lot of replies to this telling me I'm on crack.
You know, I can't say with authority that those words were on that sheet, really... can't say for sure how the knowledge entered my head. But that's what he's singing, without a doubt. We're special! |

Honestly, Doug must have been going a bit bonkers by the end of 1996. He spent six months recording PFNO three times!

I heard "Green button and record-ready. Blue button, rehearse" on a '98 version that starts where the song picks up. thought it was a reference
to recording when the topic popped up on the forums a while back

That's OK. I was hoping for the whole show. I've got quite a few old shows that have those lyrics. Thanks though.

Thanks! that's awesome. I just started looking for BTS shows about a year ago so it's always nice to find a new one. Thanks again!
